October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. 

Through this event the NY Race Track Chaplaincy helps those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education and support services. 

Every year, over 100 women from the Backstretch Community at Belmont attend this event. Guests speakers, as well as public and private organizations present the ladies with opportunities to obtain the services they need at little or no cost.

Back to School Party

Over 300 children receive backpacks filled with ALL the supplies they need to return to school.

Thanks to our annual sponsor Mike Repole, and other donations from our supporters like you, we host the families of the backstretch for a Christmas Festival every year in the Belmont Cafe.

Easter Egg Hunt
Belmont Café at Belmont Park

NYRTCA's annual egg hunt has become a much loved Backstretch community event, and the perfect way to celebrate spring!  Held in the Belmont Cafe at Belmont Park, the hunt includes photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, arts & crafts, and live entertainment.  Grab your baskets and bunny ears and usher in the warm weather with us.

Due to the pandemic, a modified version of the Easter Egg Hunt will be held in 2021. Please write to info@rtcany for more information.

Created in 2020 as a virtual event due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Champions Talk, a
roundtable discussion of top industry professionals, was such a hit that it has become an annual
event. The 2021 edition of our Champions Talk fundraiser will be moderated by Tom Durkin and will
feature five champion jockeys: Ángel Cordero Jr., Laffit Pincay Jr., Chris McCarron, Rich
Migliore, and Jorge Velazquez. Champions Talk be the sole Saratoga fundraiser for the NY Race Track Chaplaincy for the summer of 2021. Tickets and sponsorships for the taping of the event, which will take place at Fasig-Tipton in Saratoga Springs, are available at this Link, and the event will be available for viewing on the NY Chaplaincy YouTube and Facebook channels on August 11th.

The NY Racetrack Chaplaincy invites all its supporters to the Annual Chaplaincy Brunch. This event takes place during the Saratoga racing season and its purpose is to raise funds for programs and events for all three NYRA Backstretch communities. 

Due to the pandemic, the Brunch is on hold for 2021. Tickets and Sponsorships are
available to Champions Talk, our roundtable discussion, at this Link.

Charity Basketball Game
Saratoga Springs City Rec Center

Year after year the Jockeys face the Horsemen on the basketball court. Hall of fame jockeys and trainers serve as captains to the all-star basketball teams in a tournament-style competition. All proceeds from the event serve to benefit signature programs for the NY Race Track Chaplaincy.  At this event, there are also raffles, promo items for sale and many other surprises.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the basketball game is on hold for 2021. Sponsorships are available to Champions Talk, our roundtable discussion, at this Link.

Thanksgiving Food Assembly and Distribution
Belmont Park Clubhouse 

Every year the NY Racetrack Chaplaincy provides large bags filled with the traditional Thanksgiving fixings to prepare a holiday family meal to over 300 families from Aqueduct, Belmont and Saratoga race tracks. Along with the turkeys and all the trimmings, the families receive additional grocery items to provide for a week's worth of food, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Email us for further info.

The NY Race Track Chaplaincy strives to make sure that each backstretch family from Saratoga, Belmont and Aqueduct have what they need for their children during the holiday months by supplying food, new winter clothing and a time of celebration and appreciation of their hard work and dedication to the horse racing industry and we cannot do this without your help.
